Stone Temple Pilots – Plush

Stone Temple Pilots, often abbreviated to STP, are an American rock band that consists of Scott Weiland (lead vocals), brothers Robert DeLeo (bass guitar, vocals) and Dean DeLeo (guitar), and Eric Kretz (drums, percussion). The band found immediate success with the release of their debut album Core in 1992, which is certified 8× platinum by the RIAA.STP went on to become one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, selling nearly 40 million records worldwide, including 17.5 million units in the United States. The band has had 16 top ten singles on the Billboard rock charts, seven of which peaked at #1, and one #1 album for Purple in 1994. That same year, the band won a Grammy for “Best Hard Rock Performance” for the song “Plush” from the album Core. Stone Temple Pilots were also ranked #40 on VH1′s The 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. Weiland’s continual drug offenses caused multiple concert cancellations and band separations. These setbacks resulted in the creation of various alternate bands by each of the band members (see The Magnificent Bastards, Talk Show, Army of Anyone, Velvet Revolver) and two solo albums by Weiland. Kretz would go on to launch Bomb Shelter Studios in Los Angeles. The band’s separation in 2003 lasted five years. Stone Temple Pilots reunited in April 2008 with a successful 71-date tour and the band’s eponymous sixth studio album was released on May 25, 2010.

Gorilla Plush
Gorilla plush are an ideal stuffed toy for any lover of wild animals, in particular, primates. They are a lovely version of the real thing and their plush physical qualities have helped contribute to their success. Many gorilla plush on the market today have not been made as fragile and vulnerable stuffed toys, instead, most of them can withstand rough-and-tumble treatment (should it ever come to that).

On the entire planet, it is estimated that there are just 700 mountain gorillas remaining, living in the remotest parts of Africa. Almost half of the population make their homes in central Africa in the forests of the Virunga mountains. The major differences between mountain gorillas and their lowland cousins is that their arms are shorter and they have longer hair which helps their bodies handle the extreme temperatures that can be found at the altitudes they live at. Mountain gorillas are also slightly larger than other gorilla species. Despite their size, mountain gorillas are not ferocious but rather very peaceful creatures, however, they will defend their family groups quite vigorously if and when threatened.

Their families are made up of as many as 30 members which consists of an older male who is usually referred to as a ‘Silverback’ due to the silver colored hair that can be found on his back, other young males, one or more females, and a number of their offspring. The dominant Silverback is responsible for both protecting the family and acting as mediator when family disputes arise. A nice addition to gorilla plush would be to purchase more than one so as to replicate a real gorilla family. It makes for a terrific teaching tool for young children since they can only benefit from learning about the gorillas fascinating family structure. In addition, they will be quite intrigued to learn that young gorillas aged three to six, are much like human children in that they spend their days playing, climbing trees, and chasing one another. You can dream up any number of ways for what your gorilla plush family will look like mother, father, and baby, are just one of many possibilities.

I was like a kid at Christmas opening my Wonderland plushies!
Hes even cuter than I thought he’d be. I love that his facial features are all stitching (so his precious face will be more durable) & those blue button eyes are such a great touch.
Cheshire is definately my favorite out of the four piece collection.
If you enjoy Wonderland collectibles, this cutie is a must have!

My kids LOVE the new Alice in Wonderland movie. The problem is there are no movie tie-ins! I have no clue why because they could have made a bundle. Although this toy has button eyes (haven’t a clue why) – at least it is the blue Cheshire Cat. Its soft and cute. And, its the only one available I can find! (But the eyes – goodness – didn’t anyone ever tell them that the X in eyeballs on cartoons means the character is dead? I heard them talking last night about it. I wish the toy designer would have thought of that). I ended up buying two pink Cheshire Cats in the past month so I was happy to find a blue one. I just wish it wasn’t “dead”. And, it is smaller than I thought. About the size of a beanie baby.
